Popular Cities

 

Agadir - Southern Morocco's most visited city and a very popular tourist destination. There are plenty fascinating towns and cities and places to see that are within driving distance

Casablanca -  is essentially the capital of Morocco. Casa resembles a Southern European city. Any European citizen or traveler will feel immediately at home here and will have an almost instinctive understanding of the life here in Casa.

Erfoud - Right on the border of the Sahara Desert, Erfoud offers a fine platform for desert based tours, 4x4 tours and camel trips.

Marrakech - is Morocco's second largest city and its population continues to rise. It has a prosperous industrial area and is the most significant market and organizational centre of southern Morocco. It is not essential to have a guide in Marrakech as the maps will guide you perfectly.

Rabat - has been the capital of Morocco since 1912 and is the second biggest city after Casablanca. It is famous for all the historical monuments in the Kingdom and the luxurious carpets and rich embroidery. Tangier, also known as the 'White City', revolves around its brilliant import, export port. Here you will see many millionaires' yachts as this is the point where the Mediterranean and Atlantic Oceans meet.

As with most countries it would be impossible to see everything in only one trip. So the following is a short list of things to see and do while in Morocco.Chefchaouen, Tangier
Go and enjoy this beautiful little town in Morocco. It has a tranquil atmosphere, incredible natural beauty and virtually all the walls are blue.

 Bou Attarin Medersa, Fez
If you are particularly interested in historical landmarks and ancient buildings, you can find prime examples stuck away in small alleys and streets in this area of Fez.

Souks, all through Morocco
Where ever you are you should always take a turn towards the local souks and feast your eyes. There is so much on display here that you can literally spend hours just looking at it all. Prices are usually not too bad either.

Skiing, Ouka'meden
Skiing season is between February and April and this wonderful, unassuming resort boasts a ski lift and terrain to suit all levels and styles. If you are fond of skiing you should definitely make a stop here.

Trekking, the Atlas Mountains
Whether trekking appeals to you or not, a trek through the Atlas Mountains can leave you flabbergasted at the heavenly natural beauty of the area.

Language Official language is Arbic, the country was occupied by France until 1956 and French is widely spoken. English is popular amoung the younger generation and is spoeknr in most tourist cities. 

Religion Majority are Muslim, tolerance of other faiths.

Currency  Dihram, divided into 100 centimes value approx.

 

Climate Year round sunshine, average temperature 17c.   Morocco is a country of contrast, it is possible to drive from snowy peaks in the Atlas to dessert terrain in a matter of a day.

Visa and Passport info for when travelling to Morocco British passport holders do not need any visas to get into Morocco. Your stay as a visitor is restricted to three months, but may be extended at a Moroccan police station.The majority of Western Sahara isn't that great for travel as its under military control and is thus quite restricted. Visiting areas outside of recognized tourist areas isn't recommended for safety reasons.Travel regulations are known to change without notice to the public. We recommend that before you travel check regulations.
